Since 1997 he consults in private practice with emphasis on diagnosis of profound deafness of babies, young children, adolescents and adults. He is an attending surgeon in Siloah private hospital, Swiss Medical Network in G\u00fcmligen. He is founding member of the core group starting 1998 the newborn hearing screening program in Switzerland. In 2010 he was awarded the PIHA, pioneer of implantable hearing aids by Professor Inge Hochmair and Professor Erwin Hochmair.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">After completing research fellowships in auditory physiology at Juntendo University in Tokyo (1987) and at Harvard Medical School in Boston (1989-91) he served as primary investigator in two grants funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (1992-1999) on the effect of electrical stimulation of the auditory pathway.
