Prof Yıldırım A. Bayazıt, MD, graduated from Hacettepe University, School of Medicine in 1992, and completed ENT residency training in Gazi University in 1996 in Ankara, Turkiye. He became assistant professor in 1999, and associate professor in 2002 in the department of otolaryngology, University of Gaziantep.
He worked as associate professor in the department of otolaryngology, Gazi University, Ankara between 2004-2007, and as a professor between 2007-2012.
In 2011-2013, he was the head and consultant of otology neurotology skull base unit in King Saud bin Abdulaziz University, National Guard Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Between 2013 and 2023, he was the head of the department of otolaryngology, faculty of medicine, Istanbul Medipol University.
In 2024 he became the head of the department of otolaryngology, faculty of medicine, Istanbul Yeni Yüzyıl University.
Since 2005, he is working the department of otolaryngology, faculty of medicine, Istanbul University Cerrahpasa.
He has membership with numerous national and international professional societies, and established the International Cochlear Implant Society and Skull Base Society in the country.
He serves as an associate editor in the ORL-Journal for Otorhinolaryngology and Its Related Specialities (Karger), and as an editorial board member of Auris Nasus Larynx (Elsevier), Biomedicine Hub (Karger), European Archives of Otorhinolaryngology (Springer),
The Journal of International Advanced Otology.
